Thailand's weather department forecasts thundershowers in 29 provinces on 1 October 2026. A weak southwest monsoon covers the Andaman Sea, Thailand and the Gulf. On the Andaman coast, which includes Krabi and the Koh Lanta area, showers will be scattered, with highs of 33 to 36°C. Heavy rain is not forecast today, which is an easing from the previous two days. Seas are choppy on the Andaman side, so check with boat operators before heading out.
The big picture
The Thai Meteorological Department (TMD) says a weak southwest monsoon covers the Andaman Sea, Thailand and the Gulf. Southerly and southeasterly winds blow over the Gulf. Isolated thundershowers are expected nationwide.
Expect warm, humid weather with scattered to isolated thundershowers.
Andaman coast (Krabi and Koh Lanta area)
Scattered thundershowers are expected, mostly in Phang Nga, Krabi, Trang and Satun. Temperatures run from 23 to 25°C overnight to 33 to 36°C in the daytime.
Sea conditions depend on where you are along the coast:
- From Phang Nga northward: southwesterly winds of 15 to 35 km/h, waves of 1 to 2 m, and waves above 2 m in thundershowers.
- From Phuket southward: southwesterly winds of 15 to 30 km/h, waves of about 1 m, and waves above 2 m in thundershowers.
Showers are scattered, so carry rain gear and plan outdoor activities for the morning. Boat trips and island hops need caution, so check with your operator first.
